NVidia’s GTX 1080 has arrived

NVidia has officially released the GTX 1080 on 27th May while announcing it last month as the most powerful graphics card for the extreme gamer.

With the rise of Virtual Reality the GTX 1080 is a treat with VR as its focus point claiming performances upgrade which is 3x faster running on the Pascal Hardware which takes its Maxwell earlier counterparts to the grinding table. NVidia has claimed that the beast of a card is indeed faster than the GTX Titan but the comparison on their website is purely against the GTX 980, like the name suggests the series should be overpowering the 980 and is half the price of the Titan.

Gamers are already rallying to buy the GTX 1080 and the GTX 1070 is set to be released next month while is said to on par with the GTX 980 and so far benchmarks have proven that it will be a beast in it’s own category for the budget gamer.

One has to wonder with the minimal price difference expected on both graphics cards the GTX 1080 may as well be the preferred card of choice.

The founder’s edition by NVidia is set at $699 and is already out of stock on their website. While regular versions from different companies such as Gigabyte and Asus are starting from $599 while the G1 Gaming version by Gigabyte is available for sale, other companies such as Asus, EVGA and MSI have revealed their specs for the GTX 1080. EVGA is set to release its overclocked version of the card in early June at around $649.
